Today is the day I've been working toward for a long time.
Not because launching a product is the goal. But because the problem it solves is real, and I've seen the cost of it more times than I want to count.
Let me tell you how this started.
What I Saw That I Couldn't Unsee
I spent more than 20 years in federal emergency management, coordinating disaster response for over 50 million people across California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, the Pacific territories, Florida, Louisiana, and beyond. I worked alongside governors and mayors. I staffed command centers at 3AM. I helped make decisions that affected entire regions.
And in all of that work, the thing that stayed with me most wasn't the scale. It was the individuals.
It was the family standing in a disaster recovery center in the aftermath of a hurricane, trying to file for assistance, who didn't know their policy number because the policy was in the house that flooded. It was the woman who owned her home free and clear for 30 years and couldn't prove it fast enough to get the help she was entitled to. It was the parent who couldn't tell the emergency room their child's medication because they couldn't reach the pediatrician and the prescription bottle was in the car that burned.
These were not rare cases. They were the pattern. And almost every time, the thing that made recovery harder than it needed to be was the same: the family hadn't had a system in place before the disaster. Not because they didn't care. Because no one had ever given them one.
The families who recovered fastest weren't the wealthiest or the luckiest. They were the ones who had their information organized, their documents accessible, and their plans in place before anything went wrong.
Why I Built Operation Prepare
I left federal service and stepped into full-time entrepreneurship in early 2026. And while I knew I wanted to build something in the preparedness space, I also knew I didn't want to build another fear-based product. I didn't want to sell anxiety or use worst-case scenarios to drive purchases.
What I wanted to build was a system. A calm, practical, beautiful system that a family could actually use. One that didn't require you to be a prepper or a survivalist or have a basement full of freeze-dried food. One that met families where they are: busy, well-intentioned, and genuinely unsure where to start.
The Operation Prepare Family Legacy Binder is that system.
It's 80+ pages of organized, federally-informed guidance covering your family's information command center, your document vault, your insurance master file, your digital resilience plan, your emergency plans and go-bags, and hazard-specific playbooks for the situations most likely to affect your region.
It's built on what I actually saw work after disasters. Not theory. Not generic checklists. The specific documentation, the specific information, the specific plans that made the difference between families who recovered quickly and families who spent months in limbo.
What's Inside
The Family Information Command Center holds your household's core information in one organized location: contacts, medical information, financial institution details, utility providers, and the out-of-area communication protocol your family will need if local lines go down.
The Document Vault and Insurance Master File is where you organize the papers that FEMA and your insurance company will ask for. Policy numbers, coverage summaries, deed or lease documentation, vehicle titles, and the home inventory that supports your claim.
The Digital Resilience and Family Archive section helps you protect and back up what matters digitally, and preserve the family records, photos, and history that can't be replaced.
The Hazard-Specific Playbooks cover the situations most likely to affect American families: wildfire, hurricane, earthquake, tornado, winter storm, flood, and six additional scenarios including cyberattack and infrastructure failure, international travel during instability, and active conflict and civil emergency.
And the go-bag and evacuation planning section gives you the 10-minute decision tree that replaces panic with action when you don't have time to think.

Twenty years of watching families face the hardest moments of their lives taught me one thing above all else.
Prepared families recover. Prepared families protect not just their stuff, but their stability, their peace of mind, and their ability to be present for each other when everything else is uncertain.
That's what Operation Prepare is for. That's what today is about.
Let's get your family ready.
Prepared, not paranoid.
